UPTAC Counselling 2026 began on May 25, 2026, with AKTU opening the registration for the B.Tech course on https://uptac.samarth.edu.in. The schedule of UPTEC counseling was declared by the Deputy Registrar, AKTU, Lucknow through a notice on 23 May 2026 based on the university notification dated 24 April 2026.
Every year the UPTAC counselling commences in May, soon after the JEE Main session 2 results were announced by NTA. The date depends on when the entrance examination results are announced and when AKTU finalises the number of seats available with its affiliated colleges.
However, in 2026 there were two new changes as compared to earlier year which were made when the counselling started on May 25, 2026. The website is changed from the earlier uptac.admissions.nic.in to https://uptac.samarth.edu.in. For the counselling session 2026 APAAR ID verification is made compulsory for every candidate before login on the portal they will need to verify or create their APAAR ID using their DigiLocker account. These changes make early preparation more important than ever.
From the 25 May start date, candidates had until 15 June 2026 to complete registration, a window of approximately three weeks. Document verification ran simultaneously from 28 May to 20 June 2026. Choice filling for Round 1 opened on 22 June 2026. The entire counselling process, including Special Rounds, runs through 3 August 2026.
