How many rounds are there in UPTAC Counselling?

There are 7 rounds in UPTAC Counselling 2026 including Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Round 4, Round 5 (Internal Sliding), Special Round 1, and Special Round 2.

Round 1 (27 June 2026) is the primary allotment round for JEE Main qualified UP candidates. Rounds 2 and 3 allow seat upgrades through choice revision. Round 3 (9 July) is the last chance to edit choices, those choices apply to Round 4 and internal sliding as well. Round 4 (11 July) auto-freezes all candidates. Physical reporting happens during 14–16 July 2026.

Round 5 (Internal Sliding, 18 July) is exclusively for physically reported students, allowing movement to vacant seats within the same institute. Special Round 1 (25 July) and Special Round 2 (31 July) fill remaining vacant seats and are open to new eligible registrants and OSGE candidates. No refund applies in Special Rounds.

Candidates who freeze in Round 1 do not participate in Round 2. The Special Round is the final opportunity in the cycle, conducted after Round 2 is complete. It fills any remaining vacant seats and uniquely allows outside-UP candidates (OSGE category) to participate, a group that is not eligible in Round 1 or Round 2. Each of the three rounds has its own registration window (where applicable), choice filling period, allotment result date, and physical reporting deadline.
