How many rounds in UPTAC Counselling?

There are a total of 7 rounds in UPTAC Counselling 2026, 4 regular rounds, 1 internal sliding and 2 special rounds. A detailed break up of the rounds are as follows:

Round 1 (Main Round): Registration from 15-21 June 2026, Choice filling from 22-25 June 2026, Allotment on 27 June 2026. This is the most competitive round, where maximum seats are filled. Only the JEE Main eligible candidates (UP Domicile or studied in UP) are eligible to participate in this round.

Round 2: Choice alteration and locking (30 June – 1 July), allotment on 3 July 2026. Candidates can revise preferences from Round 1.

Round 3: Final choice locking (6–7 July), allotment on 9 July 2026. This is the last opportunity to change choices, preferences locked here apply to all further rounds including internal sliding.

Round 4: Auto freeze allotment on 11 July 2026. No separate choice filling, Round 3 locked choices are used. All candidates are auto-frozen. Physical reporting for all freeze candidates: 14–16 July 2026.

Round 5 (Internal Sliding): For physically reported candidates only. Online willingness for internal sliding: 14–16 July 2026. Allotment on 18 July 2026 if seats remain vacant within the same institute.

Special Round 1: Open to new registrants and candidates who withdrew from earlier rounds. Choice filling: 19–23 July 2026. Allotment: 25 July 2026. Physical reporting: 27–28 July 2026. OSGE candidates eligible here for the first time.

Special Round 2: Choice filling: 27–30 July 2026. Allotment: 31 July 2026. Physical reporting: 31 July – 3 August 2026. No refund applicable in Special Rounds.

Candidates who were allotted a seat in earlier rounds and did not withdraw are not allowed to register for Special Rounds. Once allotted in any round, non-reporting leads to automatic seat cancellation with no fee refund.
