UPTAC Counselling 2026 started on 25 May 2026. This is the date when registration opened on the official portal https://uptac.samarth.edu.in for B.Tech admissions at AKTU-affiliated colleges for the academic year 2026-27. The start date was announced through an official AKTU notice on 23 May 2026.
The 2026 start date followed the same May pattern as previous years, UPTAC consistently opens after JEE Main Session 2 results are declared. For 2026, registration ran from 25 May to 15 June 2026. This was a one-time registration window, not available again in Round 2, 3, or 4.
What changed in 2026 compared to previous years: the portal shifted to https://uptac.samarth.edu.in from the old uptac.admissions.nic.in, and APAAR ID verification became mandatory during registration. Candidates without an APAAR ID were required to create one through DigiLocker before completing registration. JEE Main data is now auto-fetched using the Application Number, candidates no longer manually enter ranks.
From the start date of 25 May 2026, the process unfolded as:
- Registration: 25 May – 15 June 2026
- Document Verification: 28 May – 20 June 2026
- Choice Filling Round 1: 22–25 June 2026
- Round 1 Allotment: 27 June 2026
- Rounds 2, 3, 4: July 2026
- Physical Reporting: 14–16 July 2026
- Special Rounds 1 & 2: 19 July – 3 August 2026
