UPTAC Counselling 2026 began on 25th May 2026 with the opening of the registration window on the newly established official portal (https://uptac.samarth.edu.in). This was announced on 23rd May 2026 by AKTU through an official notice signed by the Deputy Registrar confirming the start of B.Tech registration from 25th May 2026.
The UPTAC 2026 Counselling schedule in full is as follows:
- Registration Opens: 25th May 2026
- Registration Ends: 15th June 2026
- Document Verification: 28th May – 20th June 2026
- Round 1 Choice Filling: 22-25 June 2026
- Round 1 Allotment: 27th June 2026
- Round 2: 30th June – 3rd July 2026
- Round 3 (Final Choices): 6-9 July 2026
- Round 4 (Auto Freeze): 11th July 2026
- Physical Reporting: 14-16 July 2026
- Internal Sliding (Round 5): 14-18 July 2026
- Special Round 1: 19-28 July 2026
- Special Round 2: 27 July – 3rd August 2026
The key changes for UPTAC 2026 were: the introduction of the new portal (https://uptac.samarth.edu.in), with the old portal (uptac.admissions.nic.in) no longer active; and the introduction of mandatory APAAR ID verification during registration. A significant new step was the mandatory APAAR ID verification or creation through DigiLocker.
Registration for UPTAC 2026 is a one-time window, it is not available in Round 2, 3, or 4. Candidates who missed the 15 June 2026 deadline for regular rounds can only register for Special Rounds (Special Round 1 Phase 2: 18–21 July 2026, and Special Round 2: 27–28 July 2026). OSGE category candidates from outside UP are eligible only for Special Rounds.
