UPTAC Counselling 2026 commenced on 25 May 2026 with the opening of the B.Tech registration window on the official portal https://uptac.samarth.edu.in. The official schedule was issued on 23 May 2026 (two days prior to the start of counseling) by AKTU in a formal notice released by the Deputy Registrar, AKTU, Lucknow.
The counselling start was triggered following the declaration of JEE Main 2026 results and in accordance with AKTU University Notification dated 24 April 2026. UPTAC 2026 introduced a new portal (https://uptac.samarth.edu.in replacing the old uptac.admissions.nic.in) and a new mandatory APAAR ID verification step during registration.

Registration for UPTAC 2026 was a one-time opportunity, available only between 25 May and 15 June 2026. It is not permitted in Round 2, Round 3, or Round 4. Candidates who missed this window can only register for Special Rounds through Phase 2 registration (18–21 July 2026 for Special Round 1, and 27–28 July 2026 for Special Round 2), subject to eligibility.
