Choice filling in UPTAC 2026 started on 22 June 2026 for Round 1 and closed on 25 June 2026. This was the window during which all registered B.Tech candidates logged into https://uptac.samarth.edu.in and filled their preferred college-branch combinations in order of priority before Round 1 seat allotment on 27 June 2026.
For candidates who missed Round 1 or want to revise preferences, the round-wise choice filling schedule is as follows:
- Round 2 Choice Filling: 30 June – 1 July 2026
- Round 3 Choice Filling (Final Edit): 6–7 July 2026 – this is the last opportunity to change choices, and preferences locked here apply to all further rounds including internal sliding
- Special Round 1 Choice Filling: 19–23 July 2026
- Special Round 2 Choice Filling: 27–30 July 2026
An important detail about Round 3 choices locked during this window are treated as the final, definitive preference list for Round 4 and internal sliding as well. Candidates must ensure their priority order is exactly right before locking in Round 3.
Each round of counselling including Round 1, Round 2, and Special Round has its own separate choice filling window. Round 2 choice filling opens after Round 1 reporting closes, and the Special Round has its own window after Round 2. Missing the choice filling deadline for any round means no allotment in that round, though you can still participate in subsequent rounds if you were registered on time.
